Bill Gates? Steve Jobs? Well they're old news.. it's all about Pranav Mistry now!
I was so excited last week about the iPad, and thought I want one! Until I watched this video. PLEASE PLEASE watch it as well - until the end. Technology has definitely become a different level - there's no difference between reality and the digital world anymore. With his new SixthSense invention, the world is definitely, definitely, becoming another one:
Enjoy! And give me your comments :)

Arghhhh, I wanted one too :0((
ReplyDeleteLOL Welcome to the blog ED :)
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable... I cannot even comprehend the concept, it's beyond me! We're too immersed in how our current computers work that we stopped thinking out of the box.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!
Thanks Shahrazad... It certainly amazed me as well! Welcome to the blog :)
ReplyDeleteHey, its my first time on ur blog and i am certianly going to be hooked on to it.
ReplyDeleteI am a tech freak myself and had watched the video long back and liked this being played on ur site - amazing!!!
This just reminded me of a gadget that i had bought from Germany in 2002 (imagine the age of the technology) and it was a robot cleaner. All i used to do was, place it under any table or a dining shelf and time it when you are not at home. This robot would come out automatically, clean the whole house, wherever it can reach and in between if the battery fails, it would come back to its place, dock itself into the charger and back to work.
So my point here is, technology, rather advanced technology has been aroung for quiet some time, but the problem has been always reachablity to masses. Nice effort on ur blog to try reaching common people...
Tks, SB
Thanks Balajee!
ReplyDeleteThe gadget you're talking about, what's it called? It sounds AWESOME!
It's true about non-reachability. I doubt this Pranav will get much more famous than the other Westerners. Although his invention is absolutely amazing, it all goes back to marketing, media, and financial corporations. I hope he makes it!
And please.. do share what you've got about new technologies :)
I love TED.. and i heard Mistry before i think.. he's an inspiration
ReplyDeletehe's also a genius!
BuJ, I love TED too!
ReplyDeleteStimulus....whats up???
ReplyDeleteSorry have been away for a long time from internet and probably for the first time for such a long time...but this time unlike other times...i loved being away. (some heavy sentence huh!!! :D)
That gadget is called iRobot - http://www.irobot.com/
Pranav's tech should be called Planet Pranav...its a different world. Come what may, this world will never get into something like this, thats my feeling, and this does not mean that i am letting down the ideas. But pratically its not for our world, we still need challenges and not ease of life.
If you love gadgets then for sure i am gonna load you with stuff...:)
Tks, SB
Thanks SB!
ReplyDeleteBut I'll have to disagree with you... we do need challenges, but as life gets easier, we find ourselves even tougher challenges to face.. Hence we don't stop ideas that make life easier, but we incorporate them and then realise we can do even more than that which becomes another challenge..
LOL I hope you got what I meant :)
But yeah, gadgets are so diverse, for many different uses, they're just lovely!
Cheers
Couple of heavy statement are putting me to sleep ;).
ReplyDeleteBut lets watch what happens.
I am myself a gadget tester for about 20 companies, but when i test these gadgets the only problem i face is when it stops functioning. Me being a complete techie can understand what went wrong and rectify to an extent and beyond that can explain well to the developer exactly where the problem lies.
But take a case of a normal human who is going to use it. What happens to them? What would they know whats inside? How would they explain what went wrong? Take the case of my mom...she tops the list of not being patient, she bought a kitchen gadget for abt 1000RO and its lying on a corner because no one is able to rectify it nor she can explain what went wrong, she just pick up the phone and says "the damn thing does not work".
This is today. And for 70% of the population, this is going to be tomorrow...
Alright, now I get your point about "challenges"!
ReplyDeleteYet I'll give you an example. Microsoft. It has lots of problems, sometimes even top techies don't get them, and they're always there. However, because Microsoft is extremely important, nearly every educated person in the world uses it, we oversee these problems. We find solutions. More technical people can be found to fix these problems. This is because it's such a great software.
A device like the sixthsense would probably lead the same story.
But its an interesting point nevertheless, didn't think of that earlier.
Cheers!
